1. Who are you?
My name is Suhib, I am 33 years old, and I work as an IT Network Engineer at NIBC Bank in The Hague. I have been living in Europe since 2017, and I truly feel that Amsterdam is where I belong.
2. Why did you choose to live in Fusion?
When I started looking for a new-build apartment, I knew exactly what I was dreaming of: an apartment on a high floor with a balcony. For me, that was a must. There is something very peaceful about watching the city lights in the evening, enjoying a beer on the balcony with a friend, or simply relaxing in the sun during the day.
I was looking for a one-bedroom apartment, and when I found Fusion, I immediately thought: wait, this is really cool. I visited the location in person to get a feeling for the neighbourhood, and I quickly fell in love with the place. My gut feeling told me: this could really be my apartment.
3. What advice would you give future buyers?
I'd like to share a good tip my dear friend Jeroen gave me: “Go visit the area late at night, walk around, and see how it feels.” So I did exactly that. I went there around 23:30 and walked around the neighbourhood for about an hour. I felt safe, calm, and happy there. It was a beautiful experience, and I will not forget that moment. That night made me feel even more certain that Fusion was the right choice for me.
Regarding financing, my advice is: do not be afraid to contact banks and ask what is possible. Speaking with a financial advisor can teach you a lot, even before you make any commitment. It helped me understand my options and gave me more confidence in the process.
5. If the walls could talk
What do you hope the walls of your new apartment would say about your life ten years from now? I never imagined that one day I would own a home in Amsterdam. For a long time, I thought I would always be renting places here and there. But Fusion made home ownership feel possible for me. It is an affordable and beautiful opportunity, and I am proud that I was able to do this on my own.
In five years, I hope my new home will be full of warmth, friendship, love, laughter, and beautiful memories. And if the walls of my home could talk ten years from now, I hope they would say: this was the home of someone who never gave up, who built a life with courage, and who filled this place with happiness, love, and positive energy.
